I think it comes down to personal tastes and choices and what the wool whispers at the time of the making of the item.
Thanks again,
SuzanneHooked On Felthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01812989696540841305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1681425713095524143.post-48382438894955507062010-08-10T19:52:07.216-07:002010-08-10T19:52:07.216-07:00I looked at a couple of your pics closeup and noti...I looked at a couple of your pics closeup and noticed the unfinished edges. You should either hem them or cover them with wool. It isn't very good workmanship to leave ragged edges. I don't see how you can justify doing it. It sets a bad example for people trying to learn.
Would you buy a dress without a hem? With fabric just cut and left like that?
It would be different if you were trying for that look, but obviously you are trying to make it "elegant" with ruffles so the raw edge just looks sloppy and lazy.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1681425713095524143.post-32664509075407493092010-08-04T17:40:31.641-07:002010-08-04T17:40:31.641-07:00Wow your work is lovely, and thank you so much for...Wow your work is lovely, and thank you so much for mentioning us.
You know we send these silks off everywhere, I used to felt a lot but have little time it is good to see them being used in yummy things- make me know I will get back to it one day soon!
best wishes
Fiona :)Fiona Wrighthttp://ofdaydreamsandmemories.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1681425713095524143.post-54401752916971560492010-08-04T15:49:04.548-07:002010-08-04T15:49:04.548-07:00No celeb status here Maggie, just have a wonderful...No celeb status here Maggie, just have a wonderful step daughter who does her best to promote my feltmaking. She is a natural born marketing Queen! She got the little spot for me on local TV. I thought it was so nice of her. I just wish I didn't feel so awkward seeing myself the way others do. I'd never have a poker face!
Try again with the nuno.
