The all day Wrap...

My slow, rainy day Monday was indeed slooooooooow! Seems like it took all day to get anything done! I started this nuno on silk gauze early in the morning and didn't get it finished until about 9:30 PM. Talk about putzy! I'd start, then stop to do something else, then come back and leave it again. Truly, my ADD ruled the day.

The colors that I dyed the gauze are gray, blue, crimson and plum. The merino wool colors are hot orange, cinnamon and purple. The close up shows the colors far better than the "live shots", because again, we are dealing with bad lighting. The lay out was very random (... see ADD gone wild!) leaving many open areas to form puckers and bubbles. I love that more and more in the nuno/laminate felts. I wish I had asked Jim to get a couple of shots of the "wool side" of the wrap. Maybe I can ask him later...maybe.

Next on the list of felts to make is a large bag for my beloved niece, Jami. She is a teacher and wants a large felt bag for carrying her "homework" home with her. She's asked for it in brown. Not a color I usually work in, so there will be some creative challenges for me. I hope I'm up to it.

My Mom sent this little video my way. She knows I love watching the humming birds. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did. What a rare treat for this young man!

Well worth it if you take the chance to watch, really wonderful.

What are you making these days? Are you having fun? What is your favorite thing about felt? I am asking because I really want to know.

I am thinking about doing a give-away for my blog readers. If I do, what would you like me to put up for a FREE GIVE AWAY?

Gotta go.
Shalom,
Suzanne

I could never pull off wearing something this feminine but I love looking at the colors, really beautiful .

What I like about felt is how many different looks can be achieved with it....all the textures and colors and uses .

It's one of the first obsessions I haven't gotten bored with because there is always something new to try and learn .

Scarf is truly beautiful!
I started another mirror, at Sunday evening, but Yesterday was so useless day, that I haven't finished it yet :) But I made another blog :D

What I love in felt- its romance with fabrics and fibres :) Whatever it would be becomes excellent after felting-shrinking and that "puckers and bubbles".
For me felting is some kind of sculpting

And of course I love dying wool, silk, felt...what an adventure!

ooooh, I love the puckers too. It's amazing how the fibers come alive with felting. I've decided that I enjoy felting more than knitting. Yes, I knit all the time but the felting keeps drawing me in.

I've been making some felted stockings and ornaments this last week using my Alpaca blended with various wools and bling. I found I'm having to use my finer spinning fiber to keep the projects from shedding. It is helping me understand my Alpaca and the wools I use to create a great end product.

Looking forward to when I can take another one of your classes.

The colors are so pretty! I also love how flowing it is. I think I might be channeling your ADD....I had many projects going yesterday and literally had to stop everything to decide which one thing I was going to finish to completion! Keep sharing :)

Your wrap looks great. Felt is wonderful due to the texture and all the ways you can adapt it. I am in the process of making felt poinsettias pins for Christmas presents.

But when it comes to planning give-away...you do beautiful things, anything you'll do, I think, it will be great!

I love that all day wrap-and the scarf you are wearing.. I am on a kind of marathon of nuno scarf maing for a sale here in Seattle.I don't usually go to tem-but this one looks like a fit..and I am enjoying (not so much the "churning out one after another) but how marvelous it is to use cotton scrim for some, chiffon for some, habotai for some and enjoy the qualities of all of the them and see "my style" as it both stabilizes and changes." One of these days photos of this crop on my blog..etc.
