A simple red hat to share today. I've had a very busy week of dyeing silk, felting, making a lot of nuno,...and there is so much to get done before the Michigan Fiber Festival, which is August 17-21 in Allegan, Michigan.
I'll be teaching at the Michigan Fiber Festival. I was informed by the workshop committee that I have some openings remaining in the multiple resist bag class. The details are on the Michigan Fiber Festival website,if you are interested. The other classes have filled. I will not be teaching any nuno classes at this event, but nuno will be incorporated into the bags if desired.
So much to do, so this is all for today.
Be Happy and touch others with your gifts,
Shalom,
Suzanne

Beautiful! Are you using merino?
Yes Kelly, I am using merino. I use it on most of my wearables. I sometimes will use cormo wool, but it does not felt as hard as merino does for me. (It could just be me.) If you are making a hat, what wool do you use?
Thanks so much for asking!
Suzanne
I have only made one hat and I used a domestic undyed wool,It was very coarse and I ended up never wearing it. Your work is always beautiful!
Kelly, have you done "the neck test" with wool. If I am going to use a wool in a next to the skin product, I try to test the wool on my neck first. If it is scratchy, itchy, the least bit irritating, I'll not use it in a hat or a wearable. I consider a hat as "next to the shin" as I would nuno.
Does that help?
SQUEAL! Only a couple of weeks until I can take your class. I am so excited to have you as an instructor again...ooooh, I'd love to incorporate nuno into my bag.
See you soon.
I've always wanted to learn to make hats like that...that is too cool. :) Have a ton of fun at MFF :)
I love your enthuiasm and writing style.
Wow!!!!!! What a beautiful hat made by you. I just love it. I have never made a hat, I would like to try for it.
