Violet Frost

I've had this fiber around for some time and finally made a hat with it. It turned out great. The dark color is merino in a very dark violet, while the surface of the hat is merino tencel. The combination is yummy, IMO.

This is #3 in my quest to get 200 hats done by the first of December. I know I'll not make it, but I am giving it my all. I think I have about 30 hats done as of right now, but do have several shows ahead of me. I wonder if at the end of all of this I'll be sick of hats? I cannot imagine it though. I also wonder if anyone expects me to clean the house while I am on the quest of 200 hats? Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Turning Points / Full Moon Rises

I started this hat yesterday, but finally finished it today. It was planned to be unplanned, with many twists and turns along the process. Usually I 'll start out with a weighed and measured goal in mind, but this one was deliberately "Let GO" in the design of the resist. The top of the hat has roses in it but are difficult to show. Perhaps when it is completely dry they will show up better. This hat is made of hand-dyed merino, black was the first layer with the multi-color atop the black. I think it made the colors richer.

As I am writing this, my family is asleep, it is 11:18 pm, there is a beautiful full moon playing peek-a-boo with huge puffy clouds. It is a time to enjoy the quiet of the day, thank God for blessings I cannot even describe and enjoy the nighttime beauty that is all around me. I love a full moon.
Shalom to all of you,
Suzanne

Trying to create through "THE MISERY"

The hat/scarf combo I crocheted while I've been sitting on the sofa sick with "The MISERY" (see previous post). The tiny wall piece is constructed from bits and pieces with some heat bondable angelina. The colors are white, gold, burgundy and a deep olive green. The angelina is in gold, pink, green, and a wonderful blue. The photo does not capture how lovely this little piece is. It makes me smile. The final photo is one of the married hats I've designed from scraps of wool felt that were made with no purpose in mind. The pieces were put onto one of my needle felt forms with pins, then hand sewed. I was not sure if I'd like the effect, but I do.

My beloved husabnd is also coming down with this horrid cold/flu. God bless him. I was so hoping it wouldn't happen!
